Welcome!  We are glad you found us. 

We moved into Honey Spot Cottage on Thanksgiving day 2011.  How appropriate! My "honey", my one true love, and I have built this incredible home place.  And now I am so grateful to be able to open the Cottage and Garden to you.  Our mission is to help grow your knowledge of gardening, giving you the tools to grow your own, make your own, and live an inspired life.

I learned to garden from my father who made us help in our very large family garden every spring, summer, and fall.  Mainly, we kids weeded.  Sometimes we were lucky enough to  use the old-fashioned one wheel hand-pushed hoe.  What fun that was!

 

We lived in a small town in south central PA and every year our 100 foot by 40 foot garden would be planted and harvested to help provide our family with fresh produce through out the growing season.  My mom always got her section front and center to plant with lovely cutting flowers.  To this day I love to pick flowers for fresh arrangements all year long. 

 

The next door neighbor was an old man who had an enormous, or what seemed like an enormous, grape vine.  He would sneak over and drop bunches of sweet, Concord grapes on our back porch for us to discover every morning.  I have fond memories of squeezing those sweet grapes into my mouth trying hard to avoid getting the tart skin in there too. 

 

​At Honey Spot Cottage and Garden, we’re passionate about growing our own food, making our own meals, and trying to live an inspired life.  We would be honored to help you learn along side of us.  We want to build a fabulous community of gardeners, novice and veteran, sharing information and enjoying the exchange.
